Sunday at the Arboretum

It was a yellow weekend. Yellow orchids and sunflower from a friend, yellow slippers on fresh green arboretum grass...Twas nice.

Illustration Friday: Impossibility

Oh no, Sue-Anne!
Stuck in a canoe
And up, up away the balloon goes a-flying!

The waves a-rolling
Sue-Anne's a-floating

Don't worry sweetie
Mommy's a-coming!

No Window Seat For Me

So earlier this morning I submitted my proposed team seating chart for when we move to the new office building (finally I get to assign seats!). Two window seats were opened and I chose neither, and chose to sit in the middle. There goes the view, or the ray of sun (in seattle, it's probably just three months in a year). But I want to be in the middle. It's cozier that way. It only struck me as quite odd when it was pointed out that usually no. 1 preference would be the seat by the window. You know that got me thinking too and thought about this tiny decision in the grand scheme of things....Nope, still stand by the middle. Oh well, I suppose we just have our little quirks here and there and this happens to be mine.

First Day Back

April 20, 2009. 10:58pm. As frosted spiked hair (flaxen be gone, platinum in) Guy from Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives puts yummy yellow cornbread on soup (and as my tummy grumbles "feed me"), I tap on my silver mac keys and start to blog.
11:24. Um. Well. Had to feed the grumbling beast with some wavy hickory barbecue Lays, pitiful substitute to the creamy gumbo Guy was tasting (*love*love* his job).
11:36. Yikes too many distractions and very big writer's block --- big creative block, actually. Which leads me to here, my first day again.  More of a resurrection of sorts as I've started blogging before to get the creative juices flowing, but went into hibernation, and now coming back in, as I yet again move blogging back in my arsenal for "Operation Get Creative" again.
11:57. Hmmm. Something tells me it will have to be baby steps.
