Four People

Out from my trusty accordion case came out this paper with purple and yellow paint. Brought me way back a long time ago when I intended for this to be a card with images of cats (as the should have been recipient was all about her cats). Obviously, it did not fulfill its original purpose. I only had my black pens handy when I came across this again, and so I decided to make them people instead of cats. For some reason, drawing people was more within my comfort level rather than felines at the time. And so it has come to this image of four people. Not sure yet if this is completely done...I'll let it sit for a while, I suppose...

IF: Journey

Sometimes, all it takes (toward a step to happiness) is simply allowing ourselves to take that journey

Fridays

I love Fridays. It signals the ending of the week and the beginning of the weekend. Went to a parish neighborhood potluck a while ago and met a few people over dinner of carbs, seafood and dessert (abiding by the Catholic rule of no meat during lenten season Fridays). Our contribution was three packs of the mushroom turnovers from Trader Joe's, that equaled to 36. Later on, when I went back to get our container, there were around 10 left. Not bad, I would say, given that we came in a bit later after dinner had already started.
Late as we were running on baby time (evite said 6:30, we arrived 6:45). Had to feed our little four and a half month old Ava a few minutes before we had planned on leaving. Brought her with us and thank goodness she behaved like an angel despite her shrieking stage. She has just found her voice and had just realized this new sound, which she loves (we hate) and chooses to let out over and over while at home. A lot of times for no reason at all whatsoever, other than to hear what she can do.
It was nice to meet new people, and especially nice to bump into some of the women in my mother's group that was coincidentally having an event at the same time, in a different hall. I am finding that the world seems smaller once you keep meeting more people. I must have met three times more new people from the last two months than this past year, now that I have immersed myself in various groups to keep my sanity as a stay at home mom (argh did I just use the word "more" in succession? - sorry, writing this at one in the morning when the rest of the household is asleep).
After the dinner event, our next stop was at a soccer field for my husband's Friday night game. They won, which is always good. But what I look forward to most when we go to his games was what happens next after, which is going to a place to grab food and drinks. Just hanging out with good company. I think this was Ava's 2nd or 3rd soccer game as spectator. My husband just can't wait until she is old enough to play. As he would say "We are grooming for the next generation (of players)".
It was a very good and full night. Gotta love Fridays.
